What do women want?
As women we want:
Happiness
Love
Security
Relationship
Recognition
How do we get these met?
We try many things
Aim to achieve these things in our own strength
Even compete with each other
Pay huge prices/ spiritually/financially/ physically
Sometime in all our seeking we can also make those we love pay
But if we seek these things we usually miss what we are hoping for:
If we aim to make ourselves happy we end up feeling the opposite
If we aim for love we can often frighten away what we want most
If we aim for security we find in the end all our efforts don’t make us feel secure- we start to become afraid of loosing the things that give us security, finances, love etc.
If we aim for recognition – most find it a monster that controls us.
God says:
If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. (Mathew 6: 30-33)

[top]Iran - Our two sisters, Marzieh Esmaeilabad (30) and Maryam Rustampoor (27) are being persecuted in prison because of their love for Jesus. They were arrested in March 2009, and labeled "anti-government activists," according to Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN). "Their only crime is that they are committed Christians who follow the teachings of Jesus." They have reportedly been interrogated numerous times and were held in three police detention centres before being sent to Evin Prison, which is notorious for treating women badly. 'Both women are unwell and in need of urgent medical attention,' FCNN reported. Marzieh and Maryam's arrest is the latest incident highlighting increased government intimidation of Christians in Iran
These women need your encouragement and prayers.
Simply print off the ready made letter, add a note of encouragement and return it to us
Write_to_Marziesh_and_Maryam.pdf
When a prisoner receives a letter, whether they can read it or not, they know that someone cares, that they are not forgotten. Although mail may be opened, censored or blocked, it indicates to the authorities that we are aware of that Christian's situation, which may result in better treatment for the prisoner.
By becoming an 'advocate' you are entering into the vital and important ministry of intercession and solidarity with those who suffer for their faith in Christ. As an advocate for our brothers and sisters in chains you will be encouraging them when you write to them in prison and supporting them when you write to officials on their behalf.
